Unfortunately a couple of days before we went to Amsterdam, I got a serious dose of the flu and both my eardrums ruptured (very painfull). The antbiotics and painkillers I was on made me sleepy and nauseous, and one of them had an increased sensitivity to sunlight so I had to stay indoors.

Luckily we had a nice hotel room and we mostly hung out in there and caught up on some sleep before our flight.

We did do a little bit of sightseeing including going to the van Gogh Museum, Rijkesmuseum, and a bit of stroll on the canals. I also bought a pretty wooden clog keyring for my friend Lynette, and a teeshirt with questionable logos on it for my brother.

By that stage of the trip, I was very ready to go home though.
