We caught the train from Aachen to Brühl, a small German town 20km south of Cologne. The train station is next to the Augustusburg Palace, and we walked through the grounds to the tiny Falkenlust palace.

There is a beautiful forest between the two palaces, with walkways going off in every direction. We were bemused to see groups of ladies with what appeared to be ski poles clattering around the place. We found out later that this is called 'Swiss Walking' and is apparently all the rage in Europe.

We also visited the Max Ernst Museum, where we discovered an artist that neither of us had known alot about beforehand. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it. I covet half the paintings and all the sculptures in there..
